About our rain barrels…
Rain barrels not only help reduce city water use/bills but also provide air temperature water for your plants. Tender plants don’t like cold showers any more than people do. Rain barrel water is also naturally soft, and diverting water helps reduce stress on the city sewer system.
Clean North rain barrels are available at Lemieux Composting, 764 Black Rd. in Sault Ste. Marie. Phone first (705-942-2750) to confirm availability. Cost is $90 for one barrel or two for $170. Payment is by cash or cheque payable to Clean North.

About our bat houses…
Bat houses are another great gift. So why have a bat house? Bat populations have been decimated by a combination of white nose fungus disease and harsh winters. By providing habitat, you are helping bats, which are important critters in our ecosystems. And bats are mosquito vacuums…a little brown bat may consume up to 1,000 mosquitos in a single night!
Tip: Mount bat houses in an east or south facing-direction (in direct sunlight) and at least 4 metres off the ground (higher is better). Be patient…it may be up to a few years before bats find your box.
