My two cents:
From my view, things went marvellously today and I'm grateful for all themeticulous planning and tireless legwork of all of you. I'm ecstatic that so few trees arrived after the grinder left the site - the efforts to inform the public certainly paid off.
I have about a hundred photos from today. I'll sort out 12-20 of the best ones and get Dan to post them on the website.
Randy and I talked about spending some time in the next year trying to find another large item to recycle, to add back in some of the "recycling fair" atmosphere we've had in the past with phone books, corrugate, and bikes. Your ideas welcome. One thought we had was to try to find a one-time market for chunk styrofoam, if that's possible.
Am I correct that we sent three trips in each truck? Don please let me know. 21 cu yds and 14 cu yds x 3, comes out to 2835 cubic feet of mulch, plus what the public took away. I had given the Sault Star an estimate of 3000 trees, so if I have the # loads correct that was a good estimate.
Suzanne, I have a container with your name on it. Leave it on the desk at CN office?
Don, I have a grey bin that the dirty dishes were in. The clean dishes are now in it to be brought back to CN. Is it yours or do you know whose? If yours, shall I leave it at CN office for you?
Peter, am I correct that you will see to the return of the Christie's trailer? Any help needed (cleaning it?) please say so.
I'd appreciate lists of names, of volunteers (Don and Andrea) and of contributing businesses, agencies, (with contact names) etc. (everyone). I'd like to get the thank you ad in, asap, to free my wee brain for worrying about other tasks.
Again, thanks a million! You are a very impressive team.
