Hi Murray! Glad you had a great Christmas!
How many barricades do you see us making this year? I agree on still
relying on PP's participation but would like to see our being able to open
the site initially, with or without PP - is that 12 barricades? Could we
limp along with 8 or 10, or even six?
What hardware is required? I realize you may have a bolt bucket at home,
but a good shopping list should be a complete one - and if each "end"
takes 12 lag bolts, for example, that will add up to quite a lot in order
to make, say, 12 barricades.
When I get your hardware estimate I shall call on my friend Lynn
Hollingsworth.
I think the 2nd truck is the last piece to fall into place. Derek has
that assignment but I will remind him. Things go fuzzy over the holidays.
Still to be worked out: the plan for fuel for the kitchen (who will get
the propane and the unleaded), the plan for the warming tent (who's
bringing firewood?), who will meet Peter C. to help load the tent to bring
it to the site, the volunteer schedule on tree chipping day itself.
Which day(s) can you be Site Manager? Don has been doing a lot of that, I
did Sunday and will do Wednesday and next Sunday, Peter McL will do
several weekdays. Job Description: go there at the start and end of each
shift for which we have volunteers assigned, orient shift supervisor,
suggest tasks for volunteers, call on the rest of us if there are any
problems.
thanks

I awake each morning torn between a desire to save the world, and a desire
to savour the world. This makes it hard to plan my day.
