update

Hello, good news and bad... and indifferent...

Derek phoned. That's the good news :)

Paul Martenson of SSAR called this morning and I talked to him.
Unfortunately their kitchen bus is booked that weekend for a training
activity, so they can't help us this year.

Randy Roy, of the city's waste diversion office, stopped in to the office
and I chatted with him. He dropped off the Yellow Box flyers and will have
more for us after New Years. He's also a Scout leader, so we chatted a
bit about the kitchen dilemma. He says we should ask Wayne LaForest, who
has helped in the past and is definitely planning to be there with
youngsters to throw trees on the 12th anyway. He also said if Wayne says no
I should call him and he'll find a Scout leader to do that job. I shall
phone Wayne.

I reached Mark Crofts, who is strung out with deadlines at the College right
now and was unwilling to commit at this moment. He promised to call me on
the weekend with a Yes or No to being kitchen boss.

Derek does not have a plan for moving the trailer. Rob Adamson is not
available right now. I suggested he call Peter to ask him to determine the
hitch size, so we can go from there in trying to make a plan. If nothing
else appears, I will send out an emergency request to the members via the
e-news list.

Derek is grateful for Don's offer to help level the trailer, he had no plan
for that either. Don, do you still have access to the cinder block that you
used last year or shall we find more? If we need to find them, how many did
you use last year?

Derek has truly gotten nowhere with the PUC, after numerous attempts with
several contacts there, so I took that over from him. I phoned and left a
begging message (not whining, but close!) with my friend Randy Johnson.
I'll let you know when I've heard back from him.

Derek will ask And-Son for a truck, and continue to follow up with Palmer
Paving for the barricades (only one message has been tried there).

That's all the news thats fit to email.

happy mistletoe!
