recycle bins in place

Hello everyone!

This morning Sault Disposal came by with two recycle bins, and this
afternoon, Canadian Waste brought one and Sault Disposal a third. They are,
in order of nearest to the trailer, to furthest:

1. Small green box from Canadian Waste, for Office Paper. This is white
and coloured, non glossy paper, including manila and other envelopes, and
file folders.

2. half-height big red dumpster, for telephone books. We're separating out
catalogs and magazines and stacking them in one end of this bin until we
have clarification on whether that contamination is acceptable to the
recycler. Likewise, we're stashing trash here too, until Sault Disposal
brings us a little trash box. Remove plastic bags from books, too.

3. Full-height big red dumpster, for corrugated cardboard. We're removing
plastic, styrofoam, etc. but we can leave the boxboard (thin cardboard
without the wavy layer) because the recycler has said a small amount of this
contamination is ok. We're NOT telling the public they can bring boxboard,
however.

4. Full-height big green dumpster, for household metals. This includes
bikes, storm doors, pots&pans, even a dishwasher. NO refrigerators (we're
not dealing with the freon) and no car tires (rims without tires are ok,
though).

The big dumpsters open up at the back so we can load stuff that way, and we
can go inside to sort out stuff, flatten cardboard boxes, etc.

Also, the trailer was moved today into its position for the duration, and
materials taken there from the office. The key with the yellow key tag
opens the lock on the donation box. The last I knew, Don was going to get a
ladder to bring down the electricity connection to the trailer.

Flyers have come from the printer. There are 3000 of them, so give one out
to everyone who drops off anything, showing them the back where we list all
the items we're reusing and recycling this year. You can send friends and
relatives to the site just to get their copy of the flyer, too. And stop by
yourself to get a few to hand around.

Still looking for site supers for Saturday night 5- 9 and Sunday afternoon
1:30-5 (as well as some times next week). If you haven't signed up for your
ONE time slot yet, these are available. :) If you've already signed up,
this is not a beg - I have lots of people on my list to call. You're just
getting first crack at it!
