Blah... I must have re-introduced the problem when I did a security upgrade
of samba a few weeks ago.  I'll look into it.

No surprise.  Your newuser script doesn't set the email password, just the
windows password.  It's up to the user to change their password immediately.
This syncs the passwords, and then they don't realize they have multiple
ones.

BTW, techies@lists still exists.  It should be used.
