The PUC came in to the CN office today to tell us our power will be out from 8 am to 1 pm this coming Sunday, Sept. 8th. I assume all will be well, Obiwan will power down gracefully after its 20 min of backup power, and power up again when the juice flows. in other news, I could not connect to the network today using herkimer at the CN office, the connection at my desk. I checked the cable and it's not an NPI error. I did not do any other troubleshooting. Am I using the wrong network card again or any other suggestions needed. I also cannot figure out why Quicken won't let me copy our files from one spot on the N drive to another spot. It goes through the process, I select the files, give a new file name in an existing directory, little window with paper flying between file folders, and finishes with a little window that says File Not Copied. I am supposed to use Quicken's process because there are lots of associated files, and simply doing an operating system file copy won't get them all. And the Quicken install on Biggs won't let me have access to the files at all - I click File, Open, and the cursor goes back to a pointer without doing anything. So I'm a bit flummoxed as I need to meet with KCaron very soon to do the year end, but I can't get a way to access the Q files at the office, on Biggs, herk, or anything. KCaron is moving out of town and we're very time limited to get this done before she goes. We'd be very grateful for any help with an approach to any of the three problems. thanks k -- "I awake each morning torn between a desire to save the world and a desire to savour the world.
