RE: Chipping Site Plan Graphic Files

Kathy,

While I'm not really familiar with the arcview software I would say that
your choices would probably be jpg or pdf. Just a hunch on my part but with
pdf you could control the way in which the document is presented and
printed. The only missing part is outputting the file to pdf so that you can
easily view the file with acrobat pdf. I guess you could install ghostscript
on the machine with arcview and create the pdf. If the file size becomes too
large you could instead use jpg files. Maybe I could help Murray install
ghostscript software and create the pdfs?? Unless some has a legit copy of
acrobat distiller :)

Cheers,

Dave

What I had asked Murray to do was to ask techies for advice on
using these files. Murray has created the treechip site plan in
ArcView, and it can export files in certain formats, including .jpg.
But we need these plans at the office and for future reference in
electronic formats, so what format should we store/send over
emails/open with software on Clean North's network?

And if .jpg is not the answer, how can we create the format we
need?

I think techies might have some advice for us here... hoping,
anyway.
