Network Changes

We've had a couple interesting network changes of late...

#1 a new web server. We replaced skirnir which was a dual PPro-200 with
128MB of RAM and a 2GB IDE disk running Debian 2.2r2 with bobafett, a single
PII-266 with 256MB of RAM and a 4GB SCSI disk running OpenBSD 2.9-stable.

This beast can handle about twice as many requests/sec as skirnir could.

It also reduces us to two operating systems in use. That reduces the
ammount of administrative overhead by a _lot_.

We're down to a system that can be managed by two full-time experienced
admins (according to http://www.verber.com/mark/sysadm/how-many-admins.html).

#2 the old webserver is now a network client. Yoda was replaced last night
with our old webserver... The old machine was a P-166 with 48MB of RAM and a
2GB IDE disk. I pulled out a 32MB memory stick from it, and put it in
hansolo, though (bumping it to 64MB). That should give us a tidge more
speed there too.

We sold yoda to make up most of the money spent on bobafett.

Enjoy the new systems!
