The whole rack would catch fire, and the ceiling would follow.  The
people living upstairs would have to move out and then no more water would
leak on your desk.  Might be acceptable losses. :)

Nah, it's fine.  Just don't make a habit of it because, as you
realised, the backup will fail for that day.  I'll also get an email
about it and likely bug you the next day. :)
