netscape messenger question

Does anybody out in techie land know anything about netscape messenger?

Every time I open netscape messenger and go to my trash folder there are
seven messages from "Marc Anderson" welcoming me to netscape, and it
takes a couple of minutes for the trash folder to open because these
messages are so big.

Is there something I can change in settings to get rid of these Marc
Anderson messages?  Once I delete them they are gone, until the next
time I open up netscape messenger, then they reappear.

Any advice would be appreciated.
