Hi Kathie,The GLP student (Kerry Smith?) left a phone message today but I was unable to reach her at the number she gave; do you have an e-mail address for her?
The tentative plan for the trees & mulch event is Sat August 18 from 9:00 am to Noon at Lemieux's on Black Road. The trees are larger stock so I'm thinking that $5 per tree will be the price. The tree species are mainly Norway Spruce, Red Pine, Bur Oak, Red Oak, European Larch. The pine and oak are from a local seed source.
I've been telling people that mulch will be available by donation. I was hopping someone could help with publicity. Perhaps the Hort Society will let us borrow their shade tents? Don ----Original Message Follows---- From: Kathie Brosemer <kathie@cleannorth.org> To: officers@lists.cleannorth.org Subject: mulch day Date: Wed, 25 Jul 2007 08:53:46 -0400 Hello everyone.I gave a presentation at Brookfield last week, and they're keen to give us a hand with that mulch and tree day.
Do we have final details? I'd like to start publicity and not wait for the Aug 7 meeting...
Brookfield's summer students want to help shovel mulch and bag trees for sale. If we don't already have a location, they've offered their parking lot. Their line folks want to put up a display and talk with people about planting trees away from power lines.
I think once we get the students doing trees and mulch, we'll be free to staff our display of rainbarrels, bat houses, and other summer-living themes. The same display we used at the Youth Science Forum and the Plant Sale, so no added work to get it ready.
Date? Times? Location? Thanks Kathie _________________________________________________________________Show Your Messenger Buddies How You Really Feel http://www.freemessengeremoticons.ca/?icid=EMENCA122
