Hello Everybody,

I have met with the Katimavik group who are willing and want to put on a screening of The Walmart Movie, The High Cost of Low Prices for Earth Day (or around that date). They discussed having a pannel debate at the end of the movie, similar to that was done for the end of subburbia movie only maybe with local bussiness owners, and someone from Walmart?

We were going to get together next week to watch the movie together if anyone wants to join us, I'll send you the date when the screening will be otherwise, I know you can rent the movie at Rogers Video.

We were hoping to use the same room at Algoma U as we did for the last screening but it depends on the cost. I told the Katimavik group I would email them tomorrow or the following day with the approx. costs for the rental of the room and what we spent on posters and press releases, and how much money we have in our bugdet or if we have to do some fundraising. It would be a good opportunity to make some money at this event as well, maybe charging 5 dollars per person to view the movie.

Katimavik have already deligated some reposnsibity within their group to handle fundraising if needed (I mentioned a bake sale similar to the Sault Youth Council because it was a great success), the securing of the location of cheaper price, and helping to find pannel members and hand out flyers/posters. One of the girl's dad from Kaimavk owns a printing press and can get posters and what not made up or us, but they have to be sent to us from out of town, but it's an option if cheaper.

As far as buying the movie goes, the movie package that we looked at earlier on the internet made specifically for public screenings is no more. It says on the internet that they are out of them, but we can order the movie and download posters from the website.

What I need to get back to the Katimavik members right aways if the financial aspect of things, how much did the EOS cost to put on? DJ if you can send me the brake down of the budget for the EOS film? Katimavik offered to comparission shop locations for us.

Get back to me with any information you have. I hope this is the direction everyone would like to take. I think it will be great becuase we have these groups working together on the project.
Tara, is the Sault Youth Group on board with this idea?

Hope to hear imput soon

Kate

Take Care, Kate
