Clean North Meeting Minutes Mar 7 2005 Present: Kathie Brosemer, Jack Donald, Ralph Thomas, Don McGorman, Peter McLarty, David Trowbridge, Mary Jane Armstrong, D. J. Skagen (YEP Rep) Regrests: S. Hanna Minutes of previous meeting read and accepted. 1. Financial Report; Ralph gave current balance as $10615 in the current account with $45 cheque for deposit and $5000 from tree chipping due from city. 2. BOYD: Scheduled for Fri/Sat April 22/23 at PUC Building on Second Line. Individual tasks as in previous events. Volunteer orientation Sun Apr17 at Clean North Office at 7:00. Katimavik group in SSM has offered to help this year. 3. Freecycle: This event had earlier in the evening received approval ffrom City Council and Kathie was thanked for her effective presentation. Any copy for the ad or suggestions for additional advertisers were to be directed to Peter. 4. Earth Day Supplement: Peter was asking for contact persons for articles to appear in an Earth Day supplement in the Sault Star. Sault Naturalists, Hort. Society, Voyager Trail, Communities in Bloom were identified. 5. Rain Barrels: Peter was to go ahead to order materials from the wholesaler for this years production. 6. A&P slips: deadline of March 20 for slips. 7. ULERN Event: Clean North has been offered a free booth at the Youth Science Forum bringing several hundred students who may be interested in science careers to be held at the Armouries Sat. April 7. We have asked YEP to be involved and will set up table diplaying CN projects including rain barrels and bat houses. Volunteers for table duty contact Don. 8. Volunteer Appreciation Nominations: A call for nominations from our membership for these awards to be submitted by Apr.1 via telephone of email to Kathie. 9. Summer Students: Kathie is working on this proposal. 10. Vehicle Emission Clinic: Date confirmed for July 11/12. Contact Jack for details. 11. YEP Report: D.J. reoprted that the battery and ink cartridge drive was not going ahead this year. The group is o\working on planning for the "Roots and Shoots" meeting at Science North later this year, 12. Next Meeting: Tues Apr 5 2005
