surprise, surprise

Hi everyone,

I had a phone call on Monday from Joan Ortiz, wife of Norman, the oil painter. They are moving to an apartment and have artworks that cannot go with them. They offered one to Clean North for a raffle, and invited me to go choose one.

So I now have an Ortiz in my living room. Wanna do a raffle? :)

I was thinking, great Christmas present! It's also a lovely painting with a very "autumn'y" palette.

When?

At BOYD? Oct 2 - Too soon, too much to do.
At our AGM? Oct 22, might work out ok. We could display it at BOYD, too.
Later? A date all its own sometime this fall/winter? My birthday is in November! :)

It's worth $400 so we can sell $1000 worth of tickets, if I remember the formula correctly (I will check). The hoops at city hall have become more numerous and smaller, though, so there would be a teensy bit more effort to get legal.

Your thoughts appreciated, soonest, as I'm about to go to press with the paper newsletter (really am!) and would love to include this.

muchas gracias
K
