Dear Mr. Smalec,

Following up on our telephone conversation from last week, I would like to develop a plan for a Clean North community tree planting project on ACR/CN property at the two sites we discussed:
a) berm south of Portage Lane
b) boulevard north side of tracks between Huron Street and Fort Creek

The trees available this year are several hundred four-year-old potted stock, most about 0.5 m tall, in a variety of species (spruce, pine, cedar, oak)

We will need to match tree species to the sites and decide on the desired spacing and arrangement of trees.

The ideal time to plant trees in this part of the world is late April and early May. Volunteer tree planters are more readily available weekday evenings and weekend days, but a weekday tree plant is a possibility.

You indicated that you could provide me with a copy of a map or aerial photo for the Portage Lane berm area. I will call you soon to set up a time for me to visit your office on Hudson Street to discuss this further.

Sincerely,

Don McGorman
