Annual meeting idea

Here's one.

At Mockingbird Hill Farm, a "Blackout Party" - celebrate the great Ontario power outage of 2003 with our off-grid annual meeting!

We can have the Bucking House for a staging area, bring our own kerosene lanterns and Coleman stoves for the potluck, and have a private campfire behind the bucking house, and then access to the corn maze for our group. This for $7 per adult, $6 per kid. We will need RSVPs so I'll know how much we'll have to pay Bob.

Suzanne and I figure if we announce this in Oliver Lehto, we might even get a bunch of new members to join.

Downside: rain. No rain location. Would we cancel, or move to CN office to get the Annual and potluck out of the way?

I've tentatively booked Friday the 17th of October starting at 5:30 pm. Bob says the corn maze may be haunted by then, depending on his discussions with High School drama clubs. Other attractions: Suzanne might do a plant walk, Bob suggests a "singing cowboy" at the campfire for $100. He says this guy will play the old favourites and folkie tunes we all love from Blackfly Jam events, and he draws $1000. a night at Mackinaw, but because he's local Bob gets him for cheap.

I'd like your feedback soon, because if we're going to do this, I would love to announce it in the newsletter that Dan is assembling this minute. So today or tomorrow if possible!

thanks
k
