Re: FYI

Folks:

I strongly suspect that one or more of the people who were helping me sort cans last night were involved with this theft. I've passed the word that all their collective reputations are toast unless the money is returned or someone is identified as the culprit. I'm not optimistic that the money will be returned.

The existence of the unlocked cash box easily visible in a very accessible unlocked cupboard in the back room was news to me. I took care to keep my helpers out of the front office at all times; I even kept the lights off and the switch is hard to find if you don't know where it is.

I've since advised Steve not to keep cash at the CN office overnight. Perhaps we should post a sign 'No cash left on premises'?

I feel bad that this incident happened. Any other suggestions on how to avoid this happening again would be appreciated.

Don

FYI

Between the hours of 4:45pm Thurs., Nov. 14 and 9am Fri., Nov. 15, an amount of money, $78, was stolen from the 2nd Coat's cash box in the cupboard in the back room at the Clean North office. This was not a break and enter. No other items were taken.
The police have not been notified.
Henceforth no money will be left overnight in the Clean North office.

Thank You

Steve Lewis
