some small details before I go...

Anyone who didn't already know, I'm away from Nov. 3-16.

media: ignore it. Especially do not react to provocation or negative statements. If pressed to comment, say that I'm out of town and will respond as soon as I get back.

Newsletter:

Mark, there is an article coming to your email from Marc Dubreuil, about idling. Don't wait for anything else, please dig up what you have and get a newsletter together. we don't care if it's only four or five pages, just go with whatever you have. Thanks.

When ready, print on a decent printer (ask Dan for help if needed) and take it to Kwik Copy. Take along some of the brown paper that's under the desk where our printers sit at the office - we have 1 or 2 boxes of 11 x 17 paper there. You'll need 200 sheets for a 4 pager, 400 sheets for an 8 pager. If you have an odd number of pages and need 8 1/2 by 11, don't have them cut up this stuff - it's far too pricey! Get them to use plain 8 1/2 x 11 if necessary. We have an account with Kwik Copy, so put it on our bill. They know what to do with our newsletter. Get 200 copies made.

There are mailing labels printed out and sitting on the corner of "my" desk, along with two stuffers - Steve's paint thing and Mark's anti-idling thing. Envelopes are in small corrugated boxes on the shelves in the server room. Postage at Churchill Plaza post office - we have an account there, too, so no one has to shell out for the postage and wait for reimbursement.

Marc Dubreuil has offered to help with the folding, stuffing, sealing, etc., and I'm sure Steve and Jack would also help. But Mark, you will need to take the lead here, and phone them to let them know when to join you at the office and get this done. Steve will know where to find everything you guys need. If it works out to use Ashley for this, Steve, go ahead.

Office ops:

Suzanne, I have left the chequebook in the locking desk drawer, and signed five blank cheques, just in case there's a need. There's nothing I know about at this time, but one never knows what can come up. Steve, if your phone messages indicate such a need, please phone Suzanne (numbers are listed on the small bulletin board near "the desk").

Don will check messages from time to time, and Jack will stop in to do the same. Don is taking the info@cleannorth.org emails and will reply to them until I get back. If there's anything that all should know about in order to respond to public inquiries, please email officers@lists.cleannorth.org, and also add in loki2607@hotmail.com (Steve).

Events:

I've called for a Christmas Tree Chipping organizing meeting for the 20th at 7:30 pm at the office, but haven't heard about any agreement/objection to this date. If there is any need to change it, please email treechip@lists.cleannorth.org. I may or may not have access to email while away, but I'll see it as soon as I get back at the latest, so please keep those bits and bytes coming...

I think that's all... until three am when I remember all the other details... :)
