Hello, We have some new machines to make life easier at the office. The fax is a little dreamboat - we've named it Zonta in honour of our benefactor. Feed it one-side good paper, with the printing facing you. The photocopier came from the Healing Arts Centre, as a donation. Tim met with the service guy from Doering and Brown today (a no-charge visit) and got it running nice! It enlarges and reduces and makes beautiful copies. He disconnected the duplexing unit, though, because it had a broken part or two and was not working, and the error messages it sent to the copier didn't let the rest of it work. It has a new drum (good for 90,000 pages) and we have four bottles of toner, so it shouldn't cost us $ for a good while yet. I'd like to set a fee for personal copies, though, so we can accumulate a kitty for paying for toner when the time comes. Is 10cents a page reasonable? Please treat these new machines gently. It's really important in the case of the photocopier, because it's old. Plastic parts get brittle with age, and if we slam drawers or doors they can break. Also, if we yank jammed pages out roughly, it can damage the drum, which will cause streaky copies until we replace the drum, and that's expensive. So treat it nicely, please, even if it gets frustrating. And we're open to a name suggestion for this one. k
