It's the last one organized by our own star organizer, Suzanne Hanna, so don't miss it! Donate plants Thurs evening, help price and sort Friday evening, shop or help or both, Saturday morning. To volunteer, email Suzanne at wildgardener@shaw.ca. The sale is in the parking lot of the United Baptist Church, Malabar Street, behind Sleepy's Mattress.

2. Nuke waste workshop

Tuesday June 10, at 7 pm, at the Clean North office. Brennain Lloyd of Northwatch, an inspiring and incredibly knowledgeable source on things nuclear, will be here to share the latest in the continuing saga of the nuke industry's plan to bury its waste in the Shield.

"Two new nuclear projects are being proposed for construction at the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station in Kincardine, with potential impacts on Lake Huron, including the North Shore and Manitoulin Island. Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is proposing to construct a "Deep Geologic Repository for Low and Intermediate Level Radioactive Wastes" to receive wastes from the Bruce, Darlington and Pickering reactors, while Bruce Power Inc., a private nuclear utility, is proposing to construct four additional nuclear reactors at the station, adding to the existing 8 (of which five are currently operating)."

Join us! Coffee and cookies will be served.

3. Pesticide-free garden award

Please don't miss the chance to nominate someone's garden! Forms available in various places, including the CN office and local garden centres. The nomination process is the weak link - let us know about pesticide-free gardens that you know!

Hey, this might be the last year for this one, if the province's pesticide ban goes through! All our City Beautification awards will have to be pesticide free! What a thought.
