There is still time to send your comments regarding the proposed bylaw which would ban the use of pesticides for cosmetic purposes. The comment needs to be nothing more than that you support the ban. The easiest way to do this is to go to www.pesticidefree.ca and there is a direct link to the provincial government's Environmental Bill of Rights Registry. The other option is to go to www.ebr.gov.on.ca and use EBR Registry number 010-2248. The comment period ends Feb 17 so this needs quick action. ***************************************************************** Katimavik is currently operating in Sault Ste. Marie. The program is for youth between the ages of 17 and 21 and is based on the concept of service learning through volunteer work and community projects. As part of the program, the participants spend 9 days in a local host family. Katimavik is looking for families to host their participants for the period between February 22nd and March 1st. If you would like more information about how to get involved please contact the Sault Project Leader, Beth Staneland 945-8758. If you know someone who might also be interested, please forward this message on to them. Keep warm and keep shovelling! Kathie
