Members e-news for August: 1. Green Side Up! This Saturday 2. Next BOYD 3. Annual Meeting 4. Newsletter deadline1. This Saturday from 9 to noon, we'll be at Lemieux's Composting on Black Road, with trees for sale and mulch for free.
Now is a great time to plant trees! We have some lovely native oaks, pines, and a couple of european species, $5 each for a large, several year old tree in a one gallon pot.
Plus, help yourself to as much christmas tree chip mulch as you can take away. It's great around conifer trees or other acid loving plants (blueberries, anyone?).
Great Lakes Power will be on hand with great handout material on planting trees, and we'll have a couple of bat houses and other green summer ideas for you too.
See you Saturday! __________________________ 2. Next BOYDStill tentative, depending on getting all those ducks lined up, but we're looking at 28-29 September. If you can volunteer, please mark your calendar for that weekend, and look for confirmation by mid-September, on www.cleannorth.org.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< 3. Clean North's Annual Meetingwill be a potluck again at Mockingbird Hill Farm. Likely mid-October, but we don't have a date set yet. We're usually on a Friday, supper and campfire and ghost stories as the sun goes down. Not to be missed! I'll clue you in once the date is chosen.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 4. Newsletter DeadlinePlease send articles, poems, limericks, travel reports, etc. to ed@cleannorth.org, by 1st September. The fall issue should be in your hands by the fall equinox.
Enjoy the last weeks of summer! k
