Hello! I have three things to grab your attention this week.
1. Bayview Air Quality report/meeting 2. Hort Society Plant Sale 3. Rainbarrel Party
_____________
1. Bayview Air Quality report/meeting
There is a gathering on Thursday evening to receive the report of the Bayview area study on Air Quality. Tony Martin has been meeting with the folks who suffer the most immediate impacts of the ASI emissions, and Cecilia Fernandez and David Trowbridge have been working on this with him. Cecilia leaves for a 2 year CUSO placement doing environmental work in Indonesia, on Saturday, so this will be a great chance to see her in action before we lose her (our loss, their gain).
It's Thursday evening at Sparks Hall, the Soo Theatre Workshop building on Pittsburg Ave. Well worth re-jigging your schedule to attend this one. We've been worried about ASI emissions for many many years, what with the lung cancer and other lung disease rates in town. Come out and see what your MP is doing about it.
note, this will turn into an NDP meeting when the air quality stuff is through, so be prepared to depart quickly if that's not your politics.

2. Hort Society Plant Sale
Saturday, 8 am to noon, at the United Baptist Church on Malabar Drive, just off Great Northern Road. Come early! Lots of plants, lots more than plants, lots of fun!

3. Rainbarrel Party
Holly and Peter have a good one planned. Meet at the Clean North office on Saturday from 2 to 4 pm. According to Holly, "No one needs to bring anything but themselves and the more the merrier."
Please email peter@cleannorth.org or holly@cleannorth.org if you want to come and help build rainbarrels. This really is a fun project and a good family time.
