1.  RotaryFest CN activity

Peter sends this in:
Just to update you on our summer student...Dirk Becker

He (and his friends along with DJ and Rob) will be handling a booth at 
Rotary Days (just west of the AGA). Take your sons, daughters, grandkids or 
neighbours kids and construct and race your sailboats made from 
recycleables.

While you are there you may wish to offer a little assistance (or bring 
some refreshments/snacks). They will be "working" the booth from 2 pm to 10 
pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

You may want to donate a few recycleables that can be used for construction 
materials.

(editor's note:  wine corks are very popular!)

2.  Organic gardens wanted

Clean North sponsors the Pesticide-Free Garden award for City 
Beautification.  We need nominees!

Know some lovely gardens that are maintained without the use of chemical 
pesticides?  Of course you do!  So now it's time to give them some 
recognition!

Nomination forms are available at local garden centres and from the Clean 
North office.  Call first (945-1573) to make sure Dirk or one of the 
volunteers will be there.  Thanks!

3.  Next computer recycling

OK, you're first to know.  But the date isn't absolutely firm yet, so don't 
make any public pronouncements.  October first, 10 am to 4 pm.  Save those 
bits and bytes...
