1. Well water workshops this week!
Tuesday - Laird Hall Wednesday - Prince Township Hall
at 7 pm, a workshop/forum/community meeting on well water. How to keep your water safe, how to have it tested, everything you ever wanted to know about wells. Experts in hydrogeology, well drilling, public health. If you have a well at home or at camp, don't miss this!

2. Vehicle emissions clinics late July
July 26 and 27, Environment Canada will be here with their mobile testing centre. We're helping out, in the parking lot at Canadian Tire. If you haven't had this done before (or even if you have!), it's a great service that will help you identify and solve any problems that are eating up your fuel. With gas prices what they've been lately, anything you can do to improve fuel economy can only help! And the service is free!
In related news, watch for Andre Riopel's Buck-A-Litre party, to take place when fuel hits $1. here.

3. City Beautification award nominations
Clean North sponsors a pesticide-free garden award, has done so for several years now. We need nominations. Do you know a beautiful garden that happens to be done without the use of artificial chemicals? We need to know about it! Fill in a nomination form at the Clean North office or at any of several garden centres around town. Nominations close the first week of July. There's a $2 nomination fee, but don't let that put you off - if you fill in a form at the Clean North office and it's for our category, we'll pay the fee for you! How's that for a deal?

4. Welcome Arlene Pitts
Arlene is Clean North's summer student. She's the one most likely to answer the phone when you call. She's working on the paint project and also numerous other little things that have needed doing. If we have a creative window display this summer, it will be Arlene we can thank! Stop in and say hi if you're downtown.
