1. This from Andre Riopel:

Dear friends

A group of concerned citizens recently formed a committee to promote the
construction of non-motorized trails in Sault Ste Marie. STAC (Sault Trails
Action Committee) is composed of various trail user groups including the
Voyageur Trail Association, Sault Cycling Club, Equestrian Club, Sault
Finnish Ski Club and runners among others. On Monday evening March 31 @ 5
pm we will be going to city council requesting that they make a priority of
implementing their recently approved Trails Master Plan which proposes an
extensive system of trails throughout the city.

We feel that the climate is ripe to get the city to put this plan into
action. To accomplish this, it's very important that we show city council
that many people care about this issue. We need a large group of people at
city council Monday night when we make our presentation. WE ARE ASKING YOU
AND AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN CONVINCE TO ATTEND OUR PRESENTATION TO COUNCIL
ON MONDAY NIGHT. Bring a symbol of your favourite trail activity if you
wish (helmet, snowshoe, ski pole, whatever...).

Please spread this memo to as many people as you can and respond to me if
you plan to make it.

Yours for a better city

Andre Riopel
President
Sault Cycling Club

2. Our newsletter is now online! That's right, the one that was in your
mailbox last week is now available as a .pdf file. So if you see
something you just have to show a friend, you can simply send them this
link:

http://cleannorth.org/help/newsletter.html

We'll be putting back issues up as we get around to it, and all future
issues will go here too, on the dates of the solstices and equinoxes (when
you've already gotten your paper version).

Thanks, Dan!

3. Party at Peter's House

We're having a barby, and building some rainbarrels too, on April 27th.
If you'd like to come for the work, that starts at 1 pm. If you want to
just come for the party, that starts at 4. RSVP is a must, though, to
kathie@cleannorth.org.

Bring:

  work gloves
something for the barbecue for yourself
a dish to share (salad, dessert, etc)
your favourite "special" beverage if wanted
  your sense of adventure
  a like-minded friend or two

And don't forget to RSVP!

4. Reuse opportunities

We've just had some requests for two items usually put into blue boxes and
therefore hard to scavenge now. If you have any of these or can save them
up, let us know and we'll collect them for the folks who've requested
them.

* Baby Food Jars of any size. It's a daycare that wants them.
*  One-gallon plastic juice jugs.

5. The next computer recycling event is still in planning. We need a
location and I'm working on it. Watch www.cleannorth.org for
announcements. We're still working toward a tentative date of May 3, so
you can mark your calendar for volunteer opportunities!

Enjoy the spring!

to savour the world. This makes it hard to plan my day.
