We do _not_ need any labour volunteers between 10 am and 4 pm on the Friday.
I just spoke with a Grade Ten science class at White Pines who are doing a unit on Ecology. Their teacher, Susan Barber, suggested a field trip for the class, to help with our event on the Friday. There are sixteen of them who will be there 10 am to 4 pm with their teacher to supervise. I have explained to her that we may not have enough work for them at all times and she is prepared for that. They are great kids, so with her there it should not be a problem.
So, we'll have lots of hands for unloading drop offs, a few to help Mike lift monitors and carry, and lots for setting up tables, carrying red dot stuff to the truck and filling pallet boxes, putting up signs to help organize the technical area, even painting signs. We can get them to paint huge banners to hang outside for the next day, too. I'll bring sheets, rope, brushes, and paint.
Think of any tasks you'd like to have done that Grade tens (15 year olds) would be capable of, and send the list my way.
Don, no more workers needed for daytime Friday. You'll get one email from S. Barber for the entire class, and perhaps emails from any of the students who want to help at other times besides 10-4 Friday.
