good to go

Hi everyone,

Progress since last note:

1. I talked with Bud P. at TransPro this morning, and he's good as gold. Says if we load the red-dot stuff on the truck as we go on the Friday, and we know by the end of the day (4 pm) whether we'll need truck #2, he can have it to us Saturday morning. If we don't know by then, we can always stick with our Monday contingency plan. I am waiting for a confirmation call from him before I go to the media, but he was extremely positive and I do not anticipate any difficulty.

2. Jack has confirmed helping with loading. Suzanne has confirmed leading on sales. Jim and Andrew will be there _all day_ on the Friday to set up the technical area - this is new! and highly welcome. Mike and Giselle will also be there during the day Friday and will get through some of the monitors early. Don, is there any way to get a small crew (3 fellows) for Friday 10 am to 4 pm? I'd like to assign one to Mike for the lifting, and have two for moving tables, helping unload drops, and loading the truck with red dot items. I still need to do the schedule for volunteers. Which of Peter/Jack will be on duty on Friday? Or do you two want to split the day?

3. Peter is getting pallets and boxes for truck loading. I will assemble all the stuff we need from the office. Dan has given me a wants list for the technical side, anyone else have any needs let me know. I'll be packing all the usual stuff like signs, signmaking supplies, first-aid kit, buttons, cash box, etc. Peter, I got coat hangers at VV and will bring them.

4. Dan and I are doing a paper newsletter right now. It will probably be in the membership's hands before BOYD, so we'll be including BOYD news.

5. I plan to do a poster within 2 days' time. Anyone who can put posters up in places of employment and public places, please let me know and I'll see that you get some.

6. Volunteer orientation will be on Wednesday Sept. 17th, at the Clean North office, at 7:30 pm. It's Dan's birthday, so we'll have cake. All new volunteers _must_ attend, and it's a good idea for "old" volunteers to attend too, if only for a brief time and have some cake!

7. Volunteer lunch "votes" wanted. Pop and subs, coffee and donuts are on the list unless I hear differently. All food must be tomato-free.

8. anything I'm forgetting? I haven't taken any action about tables/chairs yet. What else?

k
