Hi everyone, In case you haven't heard, the next BOYD is set for June 1 and 2. We found a location - St. Jerome's Church, which is behind Pino's IGA The location is ideal because of the following features: -wheel chair ramp, which can be used for our carts to wheel computers in and out -public accessible washrooms -an admissions/coat check area - large, bright, clean hall -St. Jerome's will supply tables, chairs, dividers -a kitchen -a loading dock -power throughout the hall and it's FREE! The Church is a little bit harder to find because of location, but we will put up directional signs. The format of BOYD will be very similar to last October's, with drop off on the Friday for businesses and institutions by appointment only and the sale on Saturday, from 10 am to 4 pm. Pasted below are the areas of responsibility as decided on from our last meeting. The "cattle call" for volunteers will be done very shortly. Screening of volunteers will follow the cattle call. We will be having a planning meeting the week of May 21, and maybe the next week a few days before the event. If you need anything please call Deanna at the office. 945-1573 Thanks, Deanna BOYD Planning - Who is going to do what? This time we will be at the parish hall at St. Jerome’s Church. This is behind Pino’s IGA, off Nicolas Street. We’ll be there the first weekend in June, collecting any old electronic equipment, including computers, printers, fax machines, and VCRs. The only thing we can’t accept is TVs. We will be accepting drop offs from businesses and institutions, by appointment, on Friday the 1st of June from 10 am to 4 pm. Call 945-1573 to arrange a time that suits you. Drop offs from the public, as well as the sale of reuseable equipment, will take place on the Saturday, the 2nd of June, from 10 am to 4 pm. Admission is $1, whether you’re shopping or dropping off. This time we have a fantastic selection of door prizes, donated by Computer Magic. The list includes a 17 inch monitor, which is a really sweet upgrade if you’re still using a 14 or 15 inch, and an inkjet colour printer, as well as numerous smaller items. Everyone gets a chance at the door prizes, whether dropping off old equipment or browsing the used (but not dead yet!) equipment tables. Any local charities wanting us to set aside equipment for their use should visit http://cleannorth.org/help.pl?topic=wishlist, download the form there, and fax it or email it to us at info@cleannorth.org. We’ll do our best to fill these requests.
