Clean North
Clean North is a citizens' environmental group in Sault Ste.
Marie. Our goal is to "promote environmental protection
through reduction, reuse and recycling of residential and
industrial waste in Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma
District."
- began in 1989
- a member of Northwatch, the Northeastern Ontario region's environment & peace coalition.
- member Ontario Environment Network
- main issue areas: solid & hazardous waste, air quality, water quality, transportation & land use, food safety.
We have a lending library which
houses over 3600 titles. It includes government documents,
scientific papers, magazines, A/V media, curriculum materials
and books. We assist teachers and students of all levels,
community organizers and concerned citizens with their
research.
The Clean North Environmental Resource Room is located at 736-A
Queen Street East in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada.
Everyone is welcome, but we're run by volunteers, so calling
first is always a good idea (705-945-1573). Volunteers are always
needed!
